Wigmorean Stripe

A complete Stripe integration for WordPress. Collect one-off payments, run subscriptions, and reconcile everything against a searchable transaction log.

Connect your Stripe account

Grab your API keys from dashboard.stripe.com/apikeys. You'll need both the publishable key (starts with pk_) and the secret key (starts with sk_).

  1. Go to Wigmorean → Stripe → Settings
  2. Paste your Test keys (or Live keys if you're ready to charge real money)
  3. Flip the Mode toggle to match — Test or Live
  4. Save

Keys are encrypted at rest via the Credentials Vault — they don't appear in wp_options in plain text.

Checkout sessions

Wigmorean Stripe uses Stripe-hosted Checkout Sessions rather than embedded Elements. Why: PCI compliance lives with Stripe, not your site. Card data never touches your server.

To create a checkout on any page:

[wig_stripe_buy price_id="price_1Abc..." label="Buy Now"]

Clicking the button creates a session and redirects to Stripe. After payment, Stripe redirects back to your thank-you URL (configurable in Settings).

Webhooks

Wigmorean Stripe listens for Stripe webhooks to update payment state. You must wire this up or subscriptions won't renew correctly.

  1. Go to Stripe Dashboard → Developers → Webhooks → Add endpoint
  2. Endpoint URL: https://your-site.com/wp-json/wigmorean-stripe/v1/webhook
  3. Select events: checkout.session.completed, invoice.paid, invoice.payment_failed, customer.subscription.*
  4. Copy the signing secret and paste it into Settings → Webhook Secret

Subscriptions

Create a Stripe Price with Recurring set to monthly or yearly, then use the same [wig_stripe_buy] shortcode with that price ID. Wigmorean Stripe will treat the checkout as a subscription start and track renewals, cancellations, and failed payments.

Transaction log

The Transactions tab shows every payment, refund, and subscription event — timestamped, searchable, exportable to CSV. Each row links back to the Stripe Dashboard for the underlying record.

Refunds. Issue refunds from the Stripe Dashboard, not this plugin. The webhook picks up the refund event and updates the local log automatically.
