Automatic renewal
Every Wigmorean license and hosting plan renews automatically at the end of its term (annual by default; monthly for some hosting plans). The payment method on file is charged 3 days before expiry. You'll get two email reminders — 14 days out and 3 days out — showing the upcoming charge and giving you a link to cancel or change the card.
Managing renewal
From your Wigmorean Cloud account dashboard:
- Billing → Payment method — update your card
- Billing → Subscriptions — see every active license with its renewal date
- Billing → Invoices — download past invoices as PDF
If renewal fails
If the automatic charge fails (expired card, insufficient funds), your license enters a 14-day grace period. During grace:
- All products keep working normally
- Connect shows a renewal banner in your admin
- We retry the charge on days 2, 4, and 8
- At day 14, if nothing's paid, the license expires
Fix the payment method during grace and the charge goes through — no interruption.
After expiry
When a license expires:
- Auto-updates stop (you can still manually update through WP)
- SafeGuard scans fall back to local-only (no Cloud verdict refresh)
- The Cloud catalog becomes read-only (you can use what you have, but can't install new products)
- Existing installs keep running — your sites don't break
To re-activate, just pay any outstanding invoice from the billing dashboard.
Cancelling
To cancel a subscription:
- Go to Billing → Subscriptions
- Find the subscription you want to cancel
- Click Cancel subscription
- Pick an effective date — immediately or end-of-cycle
- Tell us why (optional but helpful)
- Confirm
Cancelling at end-of-cycle is usually right — you get to use what you already paid for through the end of the term. Cancelling immediately triggers a prorated refund for unused time.
