System health
Top of the Diagnostics screen shows a dashboard of green/yellow/red indicators:
- WordPress version (latest? security-supported?)
- PHP version (running a currently-supported version?)
- Database version + size
- Disk space (uploads folder)
- Memory limit + peak usage
- HTTPS status (cert expiry, chain validity)
- WP-Cron health (running? how recently?)
- Last full backup
PHP scanner
Scans every active plugin + the active theme for PHP-level issues:
- Deprecated function calls for the current PHP version
- Missing strict type declarations where the plugin claims strict types
- Potential security issues (direct
$_GETuse, unescaped output) - Performance smells (queries inside loops, unbounded
get_posts)
Results are advisory — Diagnostics never auto-edits code.
Database table checks
Validates:
- Core WP tables exist and have expected schema
- Wigmorean module tables exist at the expected version (via Engine's schema manager)
- No orphaned rows (postmeta without posts, etc.)
- No duplicate rows where uniqueness is expected
- Index health (missing indexes on heavily-queried columns)
Fixes are available for common issues (click "Re-run migration" for a module with out-of-date schema).
Plugin conflicts
Runs a coarse conflict check: looks at known-bad combinations from the SafeGuard registry and flags any that apply to your site. Gives the same verdict model (green/yellow/red) for fast reading.
Error log surfacing
Parses the PHP error log (wp-content/debug.log by default) and surfaces the last 50 errors, deduplicated, sorted by frequency. Useful for catching intermittent issues that don't show up in manual testing.
JSON export
One button — Export diagnostics as JSON — dumps every check result into a single file you can attach to a support ticket. No credentials, no license keys, no personal data included by design.
WP-CLI
wp wigmorean diagnostics run
wp wigmorean diagnostics export --format=json
Scheduled runs
Diagnostics runs automatically once a week. Red findings trigger an admin email so issues don't fester between manual checks.
